Meet Jessica Baker

Jessica Baker, LAc, RH (AHG) is an author, acupuncturist, herbalist, aromatherapist and educator. Her passion for all plants is reflected in her formulations, private practice and classes on aromatherapy, herbalism, and Chinese medicine. As a continuing education provider, she teaches at several herbal symposia and acupuncture conferences throughout the United States. Jessica is on the faculty of the Holistic Cannabis Academy and teaches at The Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism. Having many years experience as a clinician, Jessica is a talented formulator, understanding the importance of plant synergy and energetics. This expertise has given her the opportunity to assist in the formulation of herbal and cannabis products for large and small businesses.

Jessica has been an avid reader and writer since she was a young child. Growing up in a military family and living in Germany as a teenager fueled her passion for different cultures. As an undergrad at the University of Georgia she studied Classical Literature and Greek, and developed a love for languages and ancient cultures. In 1997, she left university and moved to the redwood coast of northern California. Her herbal journey began at the Dandelion Herbal Center with Jane Bothwell in 1999. In 2001, she had the opportunity to complete a Community Herbalist Certification Program with renowned herbalist Dr. Christopher Hobbs, where she was introduced to Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnostic techniques, classical Chinese theory, and herbs.

Her time with Dr. Hobbs inspired her to study Chinese Medicine at Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, CA, where she received a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2008. She holds a Diplomat in Oriental Medicine through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is a Licensed Acupuncturist in California and Colorado.

Jessica is a Medical Qi Gong Practitioner. She has also studied Medical Aromatherapy through the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy and with Daoist master Jeffrey Yuen. She is a certified Acudetox Specialist (ADS) through the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association and has worked extensively with veterans and others with PTSd. In 2008, she opened Jade Dragon Acupuncture, a medical spa in Arcata, CA and co-founded the Humboldt Veterans Acupuncture Project provide free acupuncture to military persons with PTSD.

Jessica has a private practice where she offers Western and Chinese herbal consultations, acupuncture, tuning forks, and medical qi gong.

Jessica has been published in The International Journal of Professional Holistic Aromatherapists, Cannabis Nurses Journal, CannaHealth, AromaCulture, and Eden Magazine. She has also completed her first book, Plant Songs: Reflections on Herbal Medicine and has her herbal company, Baker Botanica.

In 2019, Jessica opened a medical cannabis clone nursery, Clone City, in Oklahoma City. Jessica gladly brings her years of expertise in cannabis and herbal education to Oklahoma.
